Under the effect of strong winds, heavy rains, water flows and gravity, surface erosion has become a major risk worldwide and erosion protection an essential expertise. The deterioration of embankments, riverbanks and other land formations under the effect of erosion can compromise the stability of the larger mass
Water is the one of the most important erosion agent. Wherever water is in movement, it is eroding its boundaries, be they slopes, banks or shores. Infiltration into the soil can also cause soil slips and landslides.
Rolled erosion products such as erosion control blankets or turf reinforcement mats are commonly used to prevent surface erosion and to promote vegetation growth.
Our TerraGreen® rolled erosion control products consist in temporary photodegradable erosion control blankets which incorporate polypropylene nettings associated to a natural coconut fiber matrix.
The nettings will be ultimately broken down by the ultraviolet rays of the sun.
TerraGreen ECB are installed on the prepared slopes. They provide protection against water flow, enhance surface stability, retain moisture and allow vegetation to develop after seeding. In fine the vegetation will provide the protection against erosion.
The choice of the products is driven by the topographic, hydraulic, and climatic conditions of the site.
TerraGreen ECB are used on moderate to steep slopes, in flow channels and in other situations for which erosion protection is needed before the full growth of the permanent vegetation.
TerraAnchor soil anchors and TerraNail soil nails can be used in association with TerraGreen ECB erosion control blankets to provide anchorage and improve slope stability when required.
TerraGreen ECB can be used as the vegetation growth layer of our ArmaGreen steep slope solutions.
Benefits

Green
Promoting the growth of vegetation on exposed slopes, banks and shores, TerraGreen ECB products contribute positively to the environment.
Adapted
Adapted
As are the majority of our solutions, TerraGreen solutions are specifically adapted to the site where they are implemented.
